Introduction– Table Test is an important lesson of Psychological/Aptitude Test held by Railway Recruitment Board. It is also called Row-Column Test. There are 10 questions based on a table and 5 minutes time is alloted for it. The table consists of 5 lines and 5 columns. Lines go through horizontally and columns go through vertically. Letters A, B, C, D and E are in random orders in rows and columns of the table. Examinee has to carefully observe the table and has to answer the questions as letters A, B, C, D or E based on it.

The test has following technical terms with their correct explanation.
- Row– goes along left to right or right to left.(↔)
- Column– goes along upward or downward. (⬍)
- ‘Of’ – letter must be excluded.
- ‘From’ – letter must be included.
- Left and right is related to examinee.
- Left and Right always indicate Lines.
- Upward and download always indicate columns.
- Left and right are related to examinee.
- Upward and Downward are related to examinee.
- Diagonal–The line which joins two angles is called Diagonal. In other words, any line which joins two places angularly is called Diagonal. Every Line or Column has two Diagonals.
- In opposite order/ In opposite cases/ on exchange – Letters of row changes on reversal of columns whereas Letters of column changes on reversal of rows.
